Weather Policy
The Duchess Cruises Limited
Last updated: 21st June 2026
The Duchess Cruises operates in most weather conditions. Rain, wind, cold weather, or other adverse weather conditions will not normally result in cancellation.
For the safety and comfort of passengers, The Duchess Cruises reserves the right to:
-
Remain moored rather than cruise.
All decisions regarding navigation and operation of the vessel are made by the skipper and are based on safety considerations, weather conditions, waterway conditions, navigation restrictions, mechanical issues, and guidance from relevant authorities.
If We Remain Moored
If a booked cruise cannot safely leave its mooring, the onboard hospitality experience will continue as planned, including any food, drinks, entertainment, and use of the vessel.
As the booked event will still take place, refunds will not be offered where the vessel remains moored for safety reasons. By making a booking, customers acknowledge and accept that the vessel may remain moored if conditions make navigation unsuitable.
If We Cancel
If The Duchess Cruises is unable to operate the event due to severe weather, mechanical failure, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control, customers will be offered either:
-
An alternative date (subject to availability); or
-
A full refund of the amount paid.
Severe Weather and Waterway Restrictions
In cases of severe weather warnings, flooding, canal or marina closures, restrictions imposed by navigation authorities or Kings Bromley Marina management, or any other circumstance that may affect the operation of the vessel, customers will be notified as soon as reasonably practicable.
Skipper's Decision
The skipper's decision regarding the safe operation of the vessel is final.
